e-AirWayBill (e-AWB)
The eAWB is a transaction of electronic data messages (EDI) in lieu of the standard hardcopy paper AWB.
eAWBs help customers save time and contribute to a healthier environment through a reduction in paper used and ultimately lighter cargo loads that require less fuel, therefore produce lower carbon emissions. eAWBs contribute to Polar’s greening strategy – less waste, better future!
Benefits:
Elimination of paper based products
Improves efficiency and reliability of the overall cargo handling process
Faster delivery times
Decrease handling errors
Positive impact on the environment with overall reduced paper usage
Milestones for e-AWB adoption:
Sign the eAWB Multilateral IATA Agreement
Contact your local sales representative for more information
Get your IT systems ready! FWB & FHL messages
Data quality checks between Freight Forwarder and Polar Air Cargo required
EAW = eAWB shipments without accompanying paper documents
EAP = eAWB shipments with accompanying paper documents, e.g. pouch, consol manifest, etc.
