William J. Flynn
President and Chief Executive Officer
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

A leader in global logistics, William J. Flynn is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (AAWW). He also sits on the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Flynn is a seasoned executive who has held senior management positions with leading transportation companies. Before joining AAWW, Mr. Flynn served as President and Chief Executive Officer of GeoLogistics Corporation, a leading global freight forwarding and logistics company. There, he led the company's turnaround to profitability and orchestrated its successful sale in 2005.

From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Flynn held several senior positions at CSX Corporation, including Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Senior Vice President at CSX Transportation, the company’s railroad unit.

Previously, Mr. Flynn spent a number of years with Sea-Land Service, Inc., a subsidiary of CSX Corporation, where he held a variety of senior management positions in Asia, Latin America and the United States.

Robert Hyslop
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

Rob Hyslop became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Polar Air Cargo Worldwide in August 2014.

Based in Purchase, New York, he has responsibility for all aspects of aviation operations, strategy, and service performance in the worldwide Polar network.

Rob joined DHL Express in Seattle in 1989 and moved to Asia in 1990, where he held several operations and aviation roles in Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In 2007 he left DHL Express to become the Chief Operating Officer of Transmile Air of Malaysia, a supplier of air cargo services to DHL in Asia. He subsequently rejoined DHL Express in 2011 as Vice President Aviation Express Asia Pacific.

Rob holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota, and served as a US Peace Corps volunteer attached to Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health.

His knowledge of the Asia Pacific will help Polar and Atlas continue to grow and serve its customers in that dynamic and developing region. Top

John Dietrich
Executive Vice President and Chief Transportation Officer
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

John Dietrich oversees all aspects of AAWW's operations, including Flight Operations, Worldwide Ground and Technical Operations, Safety and Information Technology. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Dietrich had been the Company's General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Human Resources. He was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (AAWW) in September 2006.

Mr. Dietrich joined AAWW in 1999 as Associate General Counsel. In March 2003, he was named Vice President and General Counsel, and later that year assumed additional responsibility for the Company's Human Resources and Corporate Communications functions. In February 2004, he was promoted to Senior Vice President.

Prior to joining AAWW, Mr. Dietrich spent 13 years at United Airlines, seven of those as a litigation attorney. At both United and AAWW, he was responsible for providing legal counsel to all levels of management, and served as an advisor to operations management on issues related to labor, safety, reliability and efficiency.

Mr. Dietrich attended Southern Illinois University, and is a cum laude graduate of the John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the Bar in New York, Illinois and Colorado.

Adam Kokas
Executive Vice President General Counsel, Chief Human Resources Officers and Assistant Secretary
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

Adam Kokas is responsible for directing the company's legal and regulatory affairs, as well as overseeing all corporate governance matters. He joined AAWW as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary in October 2006. He has since taken on responsibility for the company's human resources department.

Mr. Kokas joined AAWW from Ropes & Gray LLP, where he was a partner in its Corporate Department, focusing on general corporate, securities and business law. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Mr. Kokas was a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, where he joined as an associate in 2001. At both Kelley Drye and at Ropes & Gray, Mr. Kokas had represented AAWW in a variety of matters, including corporate finance transactions, corporate governance matters, strategic alliances, securities matters, and other general corporate issues.

Mr. Kokas earned his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, and is a cum laude graduate of the Boston University School of Law, where he was an Edward M. Hennessey scholar. He is a member of the Bar in New York and New Jersey. Top

Thomas Betenia
Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Americas
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

Thomas Betenia oversees all sales and marketing activities in the Americas. This includes building on Polar's existing business with its scheduled-service customers while leveraging the company's added express capabilities on behalf of current and prospective customers.

Mr. Betenia joined the company in January 2008 from Lufthansa Cargo, where he most recently served as Director of sales and handling for the U.S. Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. During his 26-year career at Lufthansa, he held positions of increasing responsibility in areas as diverse as accounting, flight operations, network planning, project management, and sales and marketing.

His previous expertise throughout the Americas is helpful in Polar's mission to high-quality, high-reliability service required in the express business while serving freight-forwarder customers with convenient schedules on existing routes.

Mr. Betenia earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a master's in business administration from Suffield University in The United Kingdom. Top

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Sylvie Blondeel is responsible for all aspects of financial management, planning and reporting for Polar. She joined the company in April 2008 as Manager Financial Planning and Analysis, and has been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility over the years. She was promoted to Director in August 2010, Senior Director in June 2012 and Chief Financial Officer of Polar in April 2014.

Prior to joining Polar, Sylvie held roles of increasing importance at The Stanley Works in New Britain, Connecticut including Integration Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions.

Sylvie holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Audencia, a Business School in Nantes, France, and a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Top

Jeffrey Carlson
Vice President, Flight Operations
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

Jeffrey Carlson is the newest member of the Polar's executive team. He was named Vice President of Flight Operations in September 2008.

A veteran captain, Mr. Carlson joined Polar from Spirit Airlines, where he served as vice president of flight operations. He is responsible for all of flight operations, including hiring, training, operations control, flight dispatch and crew scheduling at both Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo Worldwide.

Mr. Carlson, a former chief pilot and vice president of flight operations at Northwest Airlines, has more than 15,000 hours of flying time on numerous aircraft, including the Boeing 747-400, a gauge which is operated by both Atlas and Polar. Among his achievements at Northwest, he partnered with Boeing to launch the Boeing 747-400 training program, which remains the industry standard today.

Mr. Carlson has a bachelor's degree in aeronautical science from Embry Riddle University, and is a recipient of the university's Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. Top



Kersti Krepp
Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Asia-Pacific
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

Based at Polar's regional office in Hong Kong, Ms. Krepp is responsible for all Polar activities in the region, including China, Japan and South Korea. She has been in the position since 2002, providing strong leadership in the region.

Prior to joining Polar, Ms. Krepp spent 11 years with Evergreen International Airlines, rising to the position of Senior Vice President for Asia. Krepp also founded and was Chief Operating Officer of V-Logic, an international logistics and chain management provider.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario in Canada, Ms. Krepp earned a master's degree in business administration from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology/Kellogg School of Management joint degree program. Top



Abilash Kurien
Vice President Marketing, Revenue Management and Network Planning
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

In his role as Vice President Marketing, Revenue Management and Network Planning, Abilash Kurien is responsible for all aspects of marketing, revenue management and reporting, capacity management and network planning for Polar Air Cargo Worldwide (PACW).

Abi joined PACW in 2008 as Director Business Development and Excellence and was promoted to Senior Director in 2010. He managed the Business Development and Excellence team, responsible for Polar’s revenue management, reporting, revenue verification, claims, training and network performance reporting.

Abi has a career history of accomplished International experience and direct involvement in global strategic business planning, operational management and sales/marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining Polar, Abi spent 12 years with Lufthansa Cargo where he held assignments of increasing importance culminating in his position as District Manager of Sales and Handling - Washington DC, Southern Ohio and Kentucky. He also held various positions for Lufthansa Cargo, with responsibility for business in the Middle East, South East Asia, China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Australia and South America. Top



Carlton Llewellyn
Vice President Operations Systems Performance and Quality Worldwide
Polar Air Cargo Worldwide

Based in Polar Air Cargo Worldwide (PACW) headquarters office in Purchase, New York, Carlton Llewellyn is responsible for daily operations and compliance oversight for all Polar Air Ground Operations and outsourced service provider activities. He works closely with station managers and Atlas Air Ground Operations to develop, improve and implement processes and coordinate new station start-ups.

Carlton joined PACW in 1995 as a Ground Operations Station Representative at JFK Airport in Jamaica, New York. Throughout the past 21 years, he has held positions of increasing importance. He led the Ground Operations team responsible for the initial PACW IOSA certification in 2007 and continues to coordinate recurring IATA audits. He was the administrator of the Polar/DHL Sable Weight and Balance program and he was a key member of the team that transitioned the Polar network from a pure cargo operation to an express operation with 98% on-time performance within 15-minutes.

Carlton is a strategic and results-driven leader who has many relationships with Polar, Atlas and DHL station managers around the world. Top



Ed McGarvey
Vice President and Treasurer

Ed McGarvey is an experienced finance executive with a deep background in aviation finance, structured finance, and banking. Mr. McGarvey joined the company in March 2009 from HSH Nordbank, where he was Senior Vice President, Head of Aviation Americas, responsible for finance and business development for the bank's aviation finance unit.

Prior to HSH Nordbank, Mr. McGarvey was a Vice President in the Capital Markets group at GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) from 1996 to 2006. He played an active role in portfolio and securitization initiatives.

As the company's Treasurer, Mr. McGarvey is responsible for capital markets and corporate finance efforts as well as banking, cash management, insurance, hedging and investor relations activities.

Mr. McGarvey is a certified public accountant with a B.S. in accounting from Manhattan College. Top


Richard Rolland
Vice President Safety and Regulatory Compliance

Richard Rolland is responsible for oversight of all aspects of Safety for the Company, including the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS). He manages Atlas’ adherence to the FAA’s Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), our Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA), Operational Flight Data Monitoring (FDM), Fatigue Management for crews, and Internal Evaluations. In addition, Richard is responsible for the regulatory compliance of Operations, which entails oversight of audits such as IOSA, DOD and ATOS, as well as the certification process for new programs.

A qualified and active B747-400/-8 captain, Richard has held positions of increasing responsibility in his 14 years with Atlas Air, including Chief Pilot and Managing Director Atlas Air Crew Services in the UK, Director of Crew Resources and most recently Senior Director Flight Operations Support Group in Miami, Florida.

Richard has been an important asset in the strategic planning and execution of key Flight Operations and company initiatives, including most recently Advanced Qualification Planning (AQP) – a main component of SMS. Richard led the Flight Operations’ data analysis and Event Review Boards in support of the company’s operations. He also managed the Flight Operations audit team and Standard Steering Group.

Richard Ross
Vice President Information Technology

Richard Ross joined Atlas Air Worldwide in January 2011 to head its Information Technology Department. In his role, Mr. Ross is responsible for all aspects of the company’s information technology globally.

Before joining Atlas, Mr. Ross held an array of senior positions in which he led and consulted to companies regarding the management of Information Technology and Operations functions. These positions have included CIO for Amerada Hess, the AFTRA Pension Fund and Layered Technologies, IT Project Manager for British Airways, Management Consultant for McKinsey & Company and CSC, Industry Analyst for Gartner Group and Engineer for IBM and Wang.

Mr. Ross holds a B.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering from Washington University and an M.S.E.E., dual major in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. Top


Gary Wade
Vice President Security

Gary Wade is responsible for Global Security at Atlas Air Worldwide. He joined the Company in 2002 with more than 32 years of experience in Federal Law Enforcement.

Prior to coming to Atlas, Mr. Wade served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Air Marshal Service at Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport. Previously, he was a Special Agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration for over 30 years, assigned to offices in Detroit, Miami, Washington, D.C. and Quantico, VA.

Among his assignments with the DEA was manager of DEA's Undercover Training Programs for four years and Chief of the Agency's Office of Congressional Affairs. He was subsequently selected to participate in the Department of Justice's Executive Exchange Program and was assigned for one year to FBI Headquarters as the Senior Drug Policy Advisor. Mr. Wade retired from the DEA in 2002 as the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Training Academy in Quantico, VA.

Mr. Wade received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management and Marketing from West Virginia University and attended graduate school at the University of Virginia.


Adjunct to his duties at Atlas, Air, Mr. Wade previously served on the International Association of Chiefs of Police Homeland Security Committee and the Air Mobility Command's Phoenix Mentor Program for Security Forces. He currently is the Chairman of the Cargo Airlines Security Committee, a member of the A4A Security Council, Chairman of the A4A Working Group on Cargo Security and a designated Subject Matter Expert to the Aviation Security Advisory Committee to TSA.
