FACT SHEET

Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc. (Polar) is a leader in international logistics, providing scheduled airfreight and charter services between the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Far East. Utilizing a large fleet of all-cargo Boeing 747 freighter aircraft, Polar provides global customers with time-definite, cost-effective, airport-to-airport scheduled freight service. Polar is 51% owned by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (AAWW), based in Purchase, N.Y, and 49% owned by DHL Express.

Airfreight Service
Using a massive network of facilities at international gateways, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Tokyo-Narita, Hong Kong, Inchon and Seoul, among others, Polar provides freight forwarders and agents with reliable connections on scheduled routes and available on-forwarding capabilities.

Charter Service
Polar specializes in charter operations with a dedicated fleet of B747 freighters. Each service is tailored to meet the needs of the customers, whether they are shipping helicopters or horses across the Atlantic, or critically needed medical supplies to Tsunami victims.

History
Polar was formed in 1993 to respond to a need for scheduled cargo service. U.S. carriers at the time provided cargo lift as excess capacity on their passenger flights. One of the key all-cargo carriers in the world, Polar has expanded from an initial flight from New York to Shannon, Ireland, to a scheduled route network serving the world’s major economic regions. Polar’s “Circle P” logo is now a common sight at major international airports on every continent. In November of 2001, Polar was acquired by AAWW, whose Atlas Air, Inc. subsidiary is the world’s leading provider of ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) freighter leasing.

In June, 2007, Polar closed on a strategic transaction with DHL Express that gives DHL a 49% equity interest, including a 25% voting interest, in Polar. A related commercial arrangement includes blocked-space on Polar flights and flight-service support agreements with Atlas, and will ensure that DHL Express has access to aircraft capacity in key global markets. At the same time, Polar continues to serve its freight-forwarder customers with convenient schedules on existing routes.

Our Mission
Polar's mission is to work with international airfreight forwarders and agents to provide them with high quality, efficient services at competitive prices — coupled with the highest safety standards of any airline in the world. International airfreight forwarders and agents are assured that they and their customers will be served by Polar's experienced and proven airfreight professionals in sales, customer service, flight operations, maintenance, freight handling and accounting.

Polar is dedicated to operating at the highest levels of safety and is the only U.S. all-cargo carrier to have all its aircraft equipped with the Traffic and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS).
